BRCC CITYLINK FORUM GUIDELINES
This forum provides BRCC CityLink members a place to network, gather and exchange information and ideas. It is a platform for illuminating, insightful, and instructive conversation. To uphold the value of our forum and to secure the rights of all members to enjoy forum, here are a few guidelines:
1. All material posted or uploaded to the forum remains the property of the original poster and BRCC is the licensed distributor of such content (Contributions).
2. The administrators of this site reserve the right without notice to access or view all Contributions, to edit the subject of a Contribution, or to move, reclassify, or delete any Contribution or other material that is deemed inappropriate or disruptive or fails to conform to these forum rules.
3. CONTENT STANDARDS
3.1 You must comply with the spirit of the following standards as well as the letter. The standards apply to each part of any Contribution as well as to its whole.
3.2 Contributions must:
(a) Be accurate (where they state facts).
(b) Be genuinely held (where they state opinions).
(c) Comply with applicable law in the UK and in any country from which they are posted.
Contributions must not:
(d) Contain any material which is defamatory of any person.
(e) Contain any material which is obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory.
(f) Promote sexually explicit material.
(g) Promote violence.
(h) Promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.
(i) Infringe any copyright, database right or trade mark of any other person.
(j) Be likely to deceive any person.
(k) Be made in breach of any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence.
(l) Promote any illegal activity.
(m) Be threatening, abuse or invade another’s privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety.
(n) Be likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person.
(o) Be used to impersonate any person, or to misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person.
(p) Give the impression that they emanate from us, if this is not the case.
(q) Advocate, promote or assist any unlawful act such as (by way of example only) copyright infringement or computer misuse.
4. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
4.1 We will determine, in our discretion, whether there has been a breach of these guidelines through your use of the forum. When a breach of these guidelines has occurred, we may take such action as we deem appropriate.
4.2 Failure to comply with these guidelines constitutes a material breach of the terms of use upon which you are permitted to use our site, and may result in our taking all or any of the following actions:
4.3 Immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of your membership with CityLink or right to use our site.
4.4 Immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any posting or material uploaded by you to our site.
4.5 Issue of a warning to you.
4.6 Legal proceedings against you for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach.
4.7 Further legal action against you.
4.8 Disclosure of such information to law enforcement authorities as we reasonably feel is necessary.
4.9 We exclude liability for actions taken in response to breaches of these terms. The responses described in these guidelines of use are not limited, and we may take any other action we reasonably deem appropriate.
5. PROTECTED MATERIAL
5.1 For legal and ethical reasons, text from third-party sources such as other websites or printed publications cannot be posted (e.g. cut and paste) on the forum, unless the member owns the intellectual property right in the material.
