The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc was started in Edinburgh in 1727 and has since grown significantly. Our brands include RBS, NatWest, Ulster Bank, Coutts, Citizens and many other “household name” financial services companies.

In late 2007, RBS successfully led the consortium bid for ABN AMRO, and in October 2008 the bank rebranded in Romania as RBS. Over the 15 years following the establishment of the bank’s operations in Romania, our team has built an impressive history for developing strong business relationships with multinational corporations, international companies doing cross-border business with Romania, and local companies especially those with export and growth potential. It was the bank’s aim to build such relationships as it grew with the Romanian business market.

Since September 2004, we have also started to offer products and services to retail clients. Our expanding range of products currently includes current accounts, debit and credit cards, overdraft facilities, mortgage and home equity loans, personal loans, saving plans. Since its establishment in Romania, the bank has built a reputation as a reliable, solid and professional partner, leader in product innovation and service quality.

We service our clients through our 31 locations, out of which 3 dedicated
Royal Preferred Banking lounges, and our direct sales force who visit customers at home or at work. We presently operate out of Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timişoara, Braşov, Ploieşti, Constanţa, Arad, Sibiu, Piteşti, Craiova, Oradea, Bacău, Galaţi, Iaşi and Târgu-Mureş.
