The Princess Margarita of Romania Foundation is an elite non-profit organisation contributing to the development of civil society in Romania.
FPMR was established in 1990 by HRH Crown Princess Margarita of Romania and her father HM King Michael I.
The Foundation’s mission is to act as a catalyst for the enhancement of human potential, the restoration of dignity and the promotion of Romanian talent and cultural values.
During its 20 years of activity, the Princess Margarita of Romania Foundation implemented numerous sustainable projects in the areas of education, community development, civil society, health and culture which contributed to the spiritual and social renewal of Romania.
Currently, The Princess Margarita of Romania Foundation (FPMR) develops and sustains programs which:
•improve the living conditions of children and young people, families at risk and the elderly;
•stimulate intergenerational solidarity and create bridges of communication between the young and the elderly;
•foster local creativity and talent.
The Foundation also seeks to stimulate volunteering and to inspire the community spirit within the communities it involves.
Our programmes are specifically inter-generational: children, young adults and elderly people are encouraged to take part together in educative, recreational and sporting activities, within a communitary framework. Read more about the inter-generational approach of the Foundation.
