F.R.O.D.O. is a UK registered charity working in Romania and Albania.  Our focus is children with disabilities, abandoned and living in institutions or in vulnerable communities.  Our vision is to transform the quality of life provide hope and empower disadvantaged children in developing countries who suffer from disability or life-threatening illness.

Our F.R.O.D.O.Kids Medical programme Treatment & Training takes UK and US medical teams, led by orthopaedic surgeons, to Romania and Albania to work in hospitals alongside local teams to treat kids who are normally invisible.  We help children through access to clinical examination, surgery, physiotherapy and providing orthotics.  Through this collaboration we support an exchange of knowledge and skills between the medical professionals as well as change the lives of children who, for example, have difficulty walking, or might not be able to walk at all.  The F.R.O.D.O.Kids WellBeing programmes focuses on transforming the lives of children with disabilities abandoned into state-run institutions.  Our aim is that all children with disabilities, living in state-run institutions and in vulnerable environments in Romania, experience a life of wellbeing where their needs are met and their potential is fulfilled so they can live lives with purpose.  We were one of five charities in the UK short-listed in The Third Sector Excellence Awards 2009 in the category of “Small Charity, Big Achiever”.  With just a small team of five, and the 60+ volunteer medical and specialist education professionals who deliver our programmes, we’ve helped over 1200 children in the past four years.
