NESsT has conducted two social enterprise competitions in Romania since its launch in 2007. Over 100 organizations have applied, and 61 of them have received training on the NESsT methodology, focused on identifying and developing income generating strategies through social enterprises. Following these competitions 10 social enterprises have been invited to join NESsT portfolio. These receive support from NESsT through grants for covering start-up costs and developing the social enterprise, capacity building workshops, one-on-one consulting according to each social enterprise needs and stage of development, access to a Business Advisory Network (BAN) which offers pro-bono consultancy in several areas of business like finance, human resources, risk management, legal etc.
 
At NESsT, we practice what we preach. We operate our own social enterprise, NESsT Consulting, which offers services to global clients on sustainability issues and social enterprise development.  NESsT Consulting contributes directly to our own sustainability and enables us to expand our geographic reach by applying our proven NESsT Venture Fund methodology throughout the globe.
