 Candole is an advisory firm headquartered in Prague with offices in Bucharest and across central and southeast Europe. We display in all our work the analytical skills you would expect from a top-tier firm. What sets us apart in the region is the relevance and accuracy of our information, an ability to make sense of qualitative as well as quantitative data and sound judgment based upon long experience of the territory and its ways.

Candole clients are typically investing or operating in highly regulated markets vulnerable to political interference and rapid regulatory change. We do not assume official pronouncements to be either valid or accurate. Nor do we presume that formal institutions and procedures have great value in explaining how decisions are taken.

Candole is led by partners Jan Ondřich, Guy Burrow and James de Candole. Jan Ondřich leads the analytical work of the firm, assembling project teams from among our own full-time consultants all of whom are nationals from the region holding postgraduate degrees in economics and political science from Oxbridge, the London School of Economics and other leading western universities. Guy Burrow and James de Candole have lived in Bucharest and Prague since 1990, and share 40 years of international client experience and local policymaking expertise.
