05/02/2010 - New Passport Arrangements For British Nationals In Romania
From 16 February 2010 you will be able to apply for your passoport direct to the UK’s Passport Production Centre (PPC) in Dusseldorf using a secure delivery service.
These changes are part of a global initiative to rationalise passport services and reduce administration costs – while ensuring that the quality of service remains high.
The service from the PPC will be fast and efficient, better able to cope with technical problems than the current service and cheaper for customers in the long run.
Straightforward applications will be processed in 10 working days from receiving the application, significantly quicker than applications made in the UK.
For those customers who do not live near an Embassy the service will be more convenient as you will no longer need to travel in order to submit an application and collect your passport.
The Consular Section at the Embassy will continue to provide consular assistance to British Nationals, including an emergency passport service for those who cannot wait for a full book to be issued.
