14/04/2010 - BRITISH DAYS PHOTO COMPETITION ENTRY DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 31ST MAY 2010

Thu, 9th September, 2010

The British Romanian Chamber of Commerce awards photographs depicting “Romania & the Arts”

The “British Days” events introduced in 2008 to mark the BRCC’s 10th anniversary celebrations have established a precedent for an annual project and our 2010 edition will take place in Bucharest on 30th June 2010.
To mark this year’s “British Days” in Romania, the BRCC has launched its annual art competition “Romania & the Arts”, a photographic account showcasing British-Romanian talent, which will be exhibited in Bucharest between 5-30 June 2010, and the winner of which will be announced and awarded at a charity fundraising Business Gala Dinner on the evening of 30th June 2010, at the Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel in the heart of Bucharest.
Romania has a long history of expression of talent through art under all its forms: theatre, dance, contemporary and classic art, traditional craft-making, design, architecture. We would like to offer all artists (both amateurs and professionals) a chance to showcase this heritage through the medium of photography. BRCC invites you all to use your creative nature, to look around through rose-tinted lenses and capture artistic moments, no matter if they are just a children’s improvised dance on the street, the beauty of a Romanian national costume, or the refined lace of a traditional handicraft.

“Romania & the Arts” - THE GOAL IS TO CAPTURE the abundance of talent expressed through theatre, dance, contemporary and classic fine art and design, and traditional craft-making

Short listed entries, selected by a panel of judges, are displayed in the lobby of the Athénée Palace Hilton Hotel in Bucharest during the British Days in Romania photo competition Exhibition between 5TH June and 30th June 2010.

Three best category prizes will be offered for this competition, with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes presented by our sponsors, JTI Romania, Alexandrion Grup Romania and PointMax, and MTR Press will offer an award for popularity.
